Frontierland is an ode of love to the 1950’s love of the Western. Built when Davy Crockett was the hero of the day, its home to some great theming. Originally, the land had no attractions and served as an open space for guests to take rides on wagons and pack mules, or to wander a number of walking trails.
Imagineering Highlights!
- The Ground – Take a look at the ground here. Its made to be just like the mud of a frontier town. Covered in Wagon Tracks, Horse footprints, it feels like at any moment you’ll step in a horse pile if you’re not looking
- The Columbia – The Sailing Ship Columbia is an exact, full-scale replica of the original Columbia Rediviva, which was the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe.
- River Belle Terrace building. – While it looks like it fits in exactly as a frontier building, this is one of the best examples of how imagineering comes into play with architecture. As you walk around the building, take notice of how the theme slightly changes as you change lands between Frontierland, New Orleans, and Adventureland.
